1. What is the first thing I should be looking for in a counselor?
You'll know within the first 5 minutes of talking with a therapist if the connection is right (i.e. do you want to keep on talking or quickly get off the phone?). Take the time to do the initial phone consultation, look at their website, ask a friend, and their testimonials. Research indicates the SINGLE most important factor in producing growth/change is the relationship between a counselor and client. But you should also look at specialty areas, experience and background to see if it matches what you need.
2. When are Your Appointment Times?
I see clients Mon - Wed, 10a.m -8p.m.; Thursdays 10a.m.-6p.m. and Fridays 9a.m. to 3p.m.
3. What are your fees?
My fee is $120 for a 1 hour session and $180 for 90 minutes. I offer a package discount if you prepay $500 for the first five hours and thereafter it's a $100/hour. I do not offer sliding scale fee at this time.
4. Do you accept insurance, EAP, or other third party payer sources?
Access Behavioral Care, a Denver county Medicaid network.
5. Where are you located?
My office is near I-25 and Colorado Boulevard located at 4155 E. Jewell Ave., Ste. 703, Denver, CO 80222. It's the big white building with the balconies and behind the Petco. The office is on the north side of the I-25 exit. Take Mexico street East one block to Bellaire street. Turn right on Bellaire and then right on Jewell.
